Aston Villa doesn’t know the meaning of the word lose

Posted by disappointmentzone on 12 December 2006

Soccer Spot, once again, comes through with a quick write-up of yesterday’s Aston Villa match.

So. Big surprise brewing in the Premiership: Sheffield United hosted Aston Villa in the British version of Monday Night Football and they, gasp, drew. 2-2 was the final score. Apparently Villa are allergic to winning, as they gave up a 0-1 lead to go behind 2-2 before Milan Baros was able to level. It was nice, though, to see that the Czech scored again (first in 8 months) and also Stylian Petrov got his first ever goal with the Villains. Aston Villa sits 8th now in the table. Soccernet’s coverage is here. The next game for Villa is at home to fifth placed Bolton on Saturday.

The good news (other than Baros and Petrov scoring) is that they didn’t lose. That should bump them in the power rankings.
